Tools for Lashon Hakodesh 8

There is a cool rule in Lashon Hakodesh. The Vav Hahipuch. The Vav in the beginning of the word, that switches tenses. From past to future and from future to past.

The word ואהבת. Let us strip the word from the end and beginning. אהב means He loved. אהבת means You loved. ואהבת then would mean And you shall love.

וידבר then would mean,  And he spoke. And he said.

והיה  would mean  And it will be.

There is a passuk that is said on Motsaei Shabbat in the pesukkim that will bring you blessing throughout the week. Let us see how you break it down.

אהב means He loved. אהבך He loved you. And He will love you.

ברך means He blessed. ברכך He blessed you. And He will bless you.

הרבה means He made a lot. He made you a lot. And He will make you a lot.
